| 1. Fill the container with Almond Dragées,
also a symbol of fruitfulness. |
We used Ghiradelli mints. |
| 2. Cut two square sheets of pink tissue paper wide
enough to wrap up around the container. |
We used lavendar & silver tissue paper that was cut
in approximately 10 inch squares to match our colors. |
| 3. Center the container on top, and draw the
tissue paper around it. |
|
| 4. Cinch the top with floral wire; trim the wire
ends. |
|
| 5. Use pinking shears to snip the pink paper about
1'' to 2'' above the cinched area. |
Make sure that you use a good pair of shears that open
& close easily and cut well. We had bought a pair of craft scissors with a
"pinking shear" design and they were terrible for cutting tissue paper!! |
| 6. Fluff the "petals" of the flower. |
According to Kelly, Laura's MOH, this is the most
important step... Laura got an "A" for effort but failed rather miserably at
fluffing the flowers! |
|
7. Arrange the carnation favors in neat rows on a table in an entrance hall or by the exit
of the reception. |
We had them placed at each place setting at the reception. |
